Valentine's Day nail art

Hi ladies and gents I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and weekend. It's been snowy and cold here in the southeast United States. I was actually snowed in for a few days including Valentine's Day on Friday. So what's a girl to do? Pamper herself, lol. Foot bath, mani & pedi, facial masks & treatments, and a good hot bath. Ahhh.
So now on to my Valentine's Day mani. Everything I used on this manicure can be purchased at Walmart. Even the stamp I used! The pink is Salon Perfect In love. I love salon perfect nail polish! It's made by American National Industries sometimes referred to as AII, makers of China Glaze and Seche Vite, the best fast drying topcoat on the market. Salon Perfect nail polish can be purchased for $3.98 a bottle. They have some of the same colors as China Glaze but with different names. A great alternative to those who don't wanna spend much on polish. You get some of the same wonderful colors and formula as those popular colors from China Glaze but $2.00+ cheaper. This color did take alittle longer to dry than most other colors I've tried from S.P.I think this one's dupe is C.G. Make An Entrance. The stamp I used is from Fingers. Ive seen it at several drugstores too, Walgreens and Rite-Aid. It is of good quaility and all images transfer. Excellent buy for around $6.00. It comes with two image plates, a stamper and scraper.

My nails are dripping gold! Hello to all! Im excited to show you all this mani, well the polish really. This is Mariah Pure 18k real gold and silver topcoat. This was introduced Christmas of 2013 but I couldnt bring myself to buy it until after the holidays due to its 30$ pricetag. I paid half price for it on Christmas Eve but im just now getting around to using it. My base is la colors circuit. There isn't really alot i can say about this one except i love it and the application was a dream. It practically applied itself. Below is one coat pure over one coat la colors circuit. I cant wait to use it over different colors and incorporate it into some nail art!

Happy New Year ( almost a week late, lol)

Hi ladies & gentleman I've been super busy this holiday season so this post is almost a week late. I'm sorry for neglecting my blog & viewers. I hope to be able to do atleast one scheduled blog post a week.
On to my mani. The thumb, pointer & pinky fingers are China Glaze Glitz & Pieces. Ring and middle are Sally Hansen Extreme wear in Celeb City. I love this pretty silver polish! Its a beautiful sparkling silver color, and the application was great also. Some silver polishes trend to be on the streaky side but not celeb city. As i must confess celeb city is my go to silver. Glitz and Pieces was a little harder to apply. The large round and hex glitters are so dense you kinda have to paint it on and then go back over the patchy areas to make sure the large glitters & pieces are evenly spread about. Usually with splatter type polishes i use a base color and one coat of the splatter polish but with this one i used no base and two coats of glitz & pieces. I'm happy with the outcome!

Flowers & Lace

Hello to all. Today I have a nail art I did a few months ago to share with you guys.The base is Essie cascade cool, a delicate, light pink leaning toward lavender. Application was good nothing to brag about but notify to complain about either. It also dried fairly quickly, as most of my Essie polishes do. Stamping is done using Pueen love elements plate # 27. This mani was one of my first adventures in stamping. I still suck at positioning the stamp and some days depending on the humidity and other factors I can't lift a stamp to save my life. I think some of it is crappy scraping, lol. If that makes any sense. I hope you all enjoyed this nail art as I enjoyed doing it for you. As always thanks for viewing! Brooke

Zoya Pixiedust Arabella

Hello to all on this manic Monday! I recently discovered Ulta Beauty. I was ordering my Zoya polishes from Amazon and waiting weeks to get them, ugh. I would much rather buy polish in person as opposed to the internet. Im extremely impatient and when I buy something I want to be able to take it home and use it right away. Ulta is a polish addicts dream, or husbands nightmare, lol.
   Today I have done a lovely textured nail art using a stamp from my Hollywood Nail plates.Lets start by talking about the textured base for this nail art, Zoya Pixiedust in Arabella. I would describe Arabella as a matte fushia pink leaning towards purple with sparkling glitter and a sugar-like texture. They sale for $9 USD and can be found at www. Zoya.com. To be honest I wasn't in love with this one until I added afew white stamps which made the polish take on more of a purple appearance. The formula was good for a textured polish. Most tend to be thick with uneven coverge but not this one. It applied well. I probably could have worn it with one coat but I like to build up to that sugary look which is hard to achieve with only one coat. Overall I am in love with all Zoya's Pixiedust collections!

Glitter Gradient

China Glaze Hologlam in Infrared & LA Girl in Explosion

Hello to all! Today I have done a super easy glitter gradient, great for beginners. I love holographic polishes! Formula was good, not bad for streaking as a lot of holographics do.  Two coats of Infrared and two coats of Explosion. The LA Girl explosion was a great glitter polish. I think it would look lovely on an accent nail or maybe even used by itself as a full mani glitter bomb.

Rasta Nails

I recently went to see Micheal Franti & Spearhead in concert. What better time for rasta nails! Ive been wanting to do a Rastafarian themed nail art for awhile now. Most of you that know me know I love the counterculture lifestyle.

Products used: Makeup sponge, 3D Bows from Claire's, Broadway nails central park (green), Nyc Lexington yellow, Milani feisty flames
